By Dan da Silva

The unsightly marks that look like orange peel on regions of a women's body is a problem for those who are urgently trying to lose cellulite. Although not life threatening, losing cellulite is the aim of any woman (or man) that sufferers with it and of course it tends to get worse with age. There are many causes of cellulite just as there are many ways of losing cellulite, even so if you are lucky enough to eradicate it, you can have the just as hard task of keeping it off.

Commonly, cellulite is found on the thighs, stomach, and the behind and is much more common in females than in men because of differences in the way fat, muscle, and connective tissues are distributed in males and women's skin. Males more often than not tend to have lower amounts of fatty tissue, while women have higher amounts. Estrogen, the female hormone is also partly to blame as one of the causes of cellulite because it is an aid in the storage of fat needed by the woman for a period, when she is pregnant and producing breast milk. Another contributing cause of cellulite is being obese but cellulite is not formed as a direct result of this, nevertheless, it can worsen the situation. During pregnancy, a woman's body goes through a number of changes during which time there is an increase in fatty deposits, general weight gain and the retention of water.

Most specialists agree that the best way of losing cellulite is a low calorie, well-balanced diet with food that has high fiber content, and to increase the amount of physical exercise taken. As a cosmetic solution, bronzing works quite well, because although the cellulite hasn't actually gone, it seems to disappear because the dark skin camouflages it. Regrettably, doing various cellulite therapy exercises may still not be enough in the pursuit of losing cellulite or cure a person's hormonal imbalance which is still usually thought of as the main cause why females get cellulite. All the same, there are other cellulite therapies you can use such as massaging the affected regions, water therapy to flush the system, creams that burn the cellulite and of course giving up cigarettes.

A more intense method of cellulite therapy is suction lipectomy for instance, which removes gathered fatty tissues from the muscles surgically and in this process a suction pump is allowed to penetrate through small incisions made on the skin. By massaging the affected are with rollers, the gathered fatty tissues are broken up until all the toxins and any water are sucked out. suction lipectomy is a method of losing cellulite that is effective but unless you observe healthy habits afterwards, it can return and often in different regions. Still, cellulite is not an illness or a disease but it highlights a by and large unhealthy lifestyle. The cause of cellulite is the first step but eliminating cellulite but does require a change in the involved person's lifestyle if they want to be free of it completely.
