When shopping for fruit juice for my daughter, I have noticed that it is often hard to find a real juice that has not had sugar in some form added to the juice. I dont know why they do this, but I dont see any reason for the added sugar.
If you walk through a store, you may be surprised when reading the labels. They add sugar to almost everything and it makes shopping very hard for me. They even add it to bread that is labeled as whole wheat or whole grain. I just dont see any reason for this. I think I might have to go out and get a juicer machine so I know what is going into my daughters juice.
Some wont buy juice from the store at all because they dont like other things that go into it as well. There are usually preservatives, and those can not be good for us either. Some juice is fine, but I am finding it harder and harder to find the good stuff. That means a juicer machine might be my only hope. My daughter loves juice, and I cant tell her that I dont want her to drink it. It is good for her as long as there is nothing in there but juice. If we have a juicer machine, Ill know exactly what is in there.
An even better benefit of the juicer machine is that the juice will always be fresh squeezed. It might cost a little more to buy the fruit whole to put through the juicer machine, but that is a price I am willing to pay. My daughter could have fresh juice each day, and I know that most of the juicers on the market today work well and work quickly. This means I wont have to spend a lot of extra time each morning getting her the juice she loves to drink with her breakfast.
The one downside of the juicer machine is that this means the fiber in the fruit is removed. Fruit is a great source of fiber, and by drinking the juice, that is one good thing that is missing. I always make sure that she has fruit juice, but also that she eats whole fruits as well as the vegetables that she needs for her fiber. Everyone needs to get the proper amount of fiber each day, so if you are giving a lot of juice instead of whole fruit, make sure they are getting fiber from another source.
